Nope, the 4 banger and V6's use a different bolt pattern. As far as what is your best option, might need some more info for that. Namely, what is wrong with your current engine and how much money do you realistically have to spend. An engine/tranny swap will cost some bucks, even if you do all the work.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.:D

The early head castings are prone to cracking. And even the later, better casting will crack if allowed to overheat (I proved that). If you can track down your oil pressure problem and solve it, one option would be to get a new head from www.aluminumheads.com They make new castings with beef added to the areas that were weak on the OEM heads. It is also very important with these engines to keep your valves adjusted regularly (every 15k miles).

Keep in mind that the 2.8V6 (the simplest swap) has the SAME HP and only a couple more ft-lbs of torque than the 4. You would need to swap over the 6 cyl wiring harness both in the engine bay and inside (for the computer). This would be no easy task. Comparitively, the 4 cyl engine can be had fairly cheaply.
The 6cyl is great (if you bought the truck that way) for upgrades, since there is much more you can swap that uses the same wiring and even computer. With a little more work you can fit in a larger or newer motor. With the old 4 you have to swap in the new transmission as well, which complicates things further.
