I have 30" Mud King tires on there right now but I want to move up to the 33"s what will have to be done to make the switch??? Will the gearing and everything be ok? And what about clearance what will I need to do clear the fenders with the new tires?

you need 8" wide rims, some Toyota lift shackles (contact Lordtrunks for which ones), cranked torsion bars, and trim the little black front bumper-ends near the bottom.
That's about it.
You're going to take a performance hit with the 4-cyl, but I run 33's with about the same amount of horsepower and similar gearing in my Trooper.

Eric, come on man! 33's fit on the stock rims...Use 33x10.5's, like BFG A/T's. If one cranks the torsion bars, use an add-a-leaf spring for the 2.6 trucks to gain the added height in the back, and then like you said, use a utility knife to trim the plastic trim on the front bumper wrap-around piece. Cheap and easy, save for the price of the 33's!

What about fitting 33x12.5 by way of a torsion bar crank, Gen 2 Springs, and a 2" body lift?
Can you fit 33x12.5 in without any significant rubbing in this scenario? And if not, then what do you have to do to eliminate the rubbing? Save Bump stops? Trim the Plastic on the front bumper? But if you do a 2" Body lift, wouldn't you also lift both of the bumpers 2"?
Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Bumpers are mounted to the frame, not the body. Doing a body lift does nothing for the bumpers.

After a body lift... raise the bumpers to match.  Then you get the clearance. (and it looks good) 2" body lift is a good idea to clear bigger tires... makes the truck look like the tires fit better. and they won't rub as much when flexing.

A proper suspension lift is typically viewed as superior to a body lift. Not sure if it's due to additional suspension travel, or center of gravity.
Regarding tire rub, with the correct wheel offset / backspacing you won't get any rubbing.

I agree... body lift is not my favorite.... But with the Montero... I'll take lift any way I can get it!!!  And suspension is limited. And I'm not into chopping up the body... I love the look of wide rims with high off set... My total lift is 5" (body/suspension)... my swampers on 10" rims increase the wheel base by 2" on each side.... Stance is 4" wider than stock... vehicle is lifted 5". Besides it looking  ... It balances the lift.

I did A package deal from Desert Rat. 15x8 black steel rims and 33x12.5 Grabber MT's. The offset ,I believe is 3.75. THEY RUB. My torsion bars are all the way up.In the rear I have GEN II springs. Now the fronts rub when cranked left or right and you compress the suspension a little (such as a three point turn in a driveway on a street) but it's on the inside and its liveable but it should be adressed. Now the rears did'nt rub day to day at all with normal driving ,however, I went up Signal Peak (near Fordyce)and I bent some of the front lip of my rear right wheel well from heavy articulating. The tire then got a little chewed and sliced bacause the lip was bent into an edge pointed at the tire. No big deal but now I'm definitely going for a body lift . I just have to figure if 1" or 2". ADVICE & COMMENTS WELCOME ON THAT. The lift of course will be from Roger Brown. Also.. I still am glad I got 33's. I just wish they tracked a little better on the highway. I dont drive it much so I havent gotten it aligned yet because I was trying to dial in the torsion bars first. An alignment would have to help. Now I'm thinking 2" lift and I might be able to turn my torsions down just to get a softer ride on the street as opposed to a 1". ANYONE DONE A 3 " LIFT ?

Lloyd's done a 3" but that's on a SWB gen I v6. He's also done the full rear coil upgrade (valley) and front IFS crank.
He run's 35's w/ minimal rubbing.
I think I'm running the same combo because it sounds like we have the same problems with rubbing. Having the "too soft" valley springs doesn't help any either.
For the body lift, I'd advise to go as little as possible.
For me, I'm going to go with a 2" lift because I'm not sure if a 1" lift is going to be enough.
I'm also considering getting a different offset wheel to bring the tire out more.
Too bad you couldn't join us for the trip the other week. It was a blast even with the carnage.
