my ride..what's next?
      #1248998 - 07/25/11 12:51 PM

I think i have the look I was going for.can't decide on the roof lites...leave it like it is or take off and mount the lites on the front of the cargo basket.
and possibly wider rims.
Other than that,I am pretty happy with it so far.
I have a body lift and coil spacers that will be my next step i guess.

What it looke dlike the day i drove it home

Looks good. I had a 90 for a short time, and cranked the t-bars up about 1in to level it off, then had 31's on it. I liked the results vs just stock settings with the 31's. And the best part, t-bar crank is free

Looking good!

What's next really depends on you. If it's fine for you the way it currently is then you're done and should save money for eventual maintenance items.

my 31's aren't scrubbing but it does need a slight crank up front to level it.I am hoping once I get the 2" coil spacers and 2" body lift on I can fit 33's easily under it.

Put a 2" body lift on it and 33's will look small. Put the 2" sprimg spacers and a body lift (and corresponding attempt to get it level with more t-bar cranking), and 33's will look downright tiny. Trust me, I know.

One question for you; what kind of 'wheeling do you do?

There are a number of folks building safari rigs, hard core trail, rails, body swapped on to other chassis, stock restomods. So many possibilities...

I think you can fit 33's with just a tbar crank and the back stock. I know i ran my 32's that way for awhile.

well,in all honesty, this isn't a trail rig nor to be used offroad unless it is light duty.It is to nice to even think i might beat it up wheeling it.I have other things for all that.
I am looking for asthetically pleasing look in the safari style range.
I didn't relize 33's were an easy fit.Thought i had read it takes some lifting to get 33's under it.My 31's scrub on real sharp corning.not bad, scrubs slightly, but it does rub the bumper ends.
But if it is that easy to get 33's under it,i may end up trying for 35's with the lifts i have here. And wider rims.
I have 35's on my pathfinder and those things look huge.Wasn't sure I could even get that big on the montero without a suspension lift also

Safari look is a good look for these things. Realistically 32"-33" tires will get you around many places offroad. looks good

33" tires and Rock Sliders would be my next mods. For a free one remove the brush guard, as it will just cause signifcant damage in a collision and get in the way off-road. A solid bumper could be added later. Rear LSD or locker also if you dont have one. The t-bars tend to fatigue as well on the 4drs, so if you could find some old Sway Aways, that would be good. Combined with Gen II coils and KYBs you will have a satisfying, bottom out free life.
After all that is done, stop back for more ideas
