87 Dodge Raider. Highly modified. GM drivetrain etc.
      #1241549 - 03/25/11 05:24 PM

It's time to pass on my Raider to someone who will wheel it like I have not been in the past few years. Almost everyone on the forum here knows my truck, and the build has been well documented here. I am not leaving the forum!!! I'm just going to be focusing my attention on my diesel raider.

Here is a quick run down of the specs that I can remember.

94 GMC truck 4.3 vortec TBI, 700r4 from a K5 Blazer, NP231 CHD(2 inch chain, 6 pinion planetary) from an S10 with a slip yoke eliminator. Both Driveshafts are Tom Woods, Rear is a CV style, and front is a 10 inch slip with 60 degree joints in it.

Heat and AC work. Heater blows fire out of it.. AC cools good for the truck being so un insulated. It has a new compressor on it, and needs to be charged with freon... I can take care of this with the buyer if he/she is interested.

Rear axle is a Montero Sport axle with factor air locker, and disk brakes. 4.636 gears in it. It had the spring perches cut, and rotated to point it up at the transfer case to be compatible with the CV style driveshaft.

IFS is gone, and replaced with a solid front. Front axle is a Dana 44 from a grand wagoneer. It's got Yukon 4.56 gears, Timken bearings, an Eaton E-locker, Chromoly axleshafts, and Superjoints. It should be indestructible. GM Steering box, F250 shock mounts.

15X10 aluminum wheels with 36X13.50 Swamper TSLs

It's got a 2 inch hockey puck body lift.

Springs are 6 inch YJ Lift springs.

It has an Art Carr shifter for the transmission, and a custom built one for the transfer case.

Has a remote oil filter.. located in the engine compartment, and an oil cooler up front.

Has a sealed intake system, and a Safari snorkle.

ARB Bumper from a Gen2 Montero, and a warn 8000 lb winch.....I MAY keep this item for my diesel montero... undecided

Inside floor is Herculined, and the front section has carpet. Suspension seat on the drivers side.

Brakes take a lil getting used to... Corvette 50/50 master cylinder... Stops fine, but needs a bit more pedal pressure than a normal passenger car. The Ratio of master cylinder bore to piston bore does not match exactly right, but it was the closes I could get with a MC that bolted in.

Headliner is trying to fall down. The truck is kinda rusty, but not a rust bucket. Certainly fixable, but the availability of cheap rust free raiders... I'd just do a body swap on this frame if I wanted a badass pristine truck. BUT.... if you wheel it, it's gonna get banged up.

This truck drives down the road straight(steering wheel is cocked) and will do 70 mph on the interstate all day long with 35s. When I had pro comp X-terrains on it, I used it as a daily driver for over 2 years. The 36s on there now arent very conducive to this, but it still drives on the street just fine.

Truck has some quirks, but will make someone an awesome wheeler, and great truck overall.

The parts alone are worth the asking price of $5500, not to mention the time, and skill of building something like this. If anyone has any questions on specifics, please let me know.

To anyone interested... I can attest to this.. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this thing drove on the street when I rode in it over a year ago.

Sucks you're selling it man but hope it goes to good use!!

My excuses are:

1. no $$
2. too many other vehicles
3. wrong coast

I would like Curtis' rig, no doubt, and for a turn key rig...

only my excuses.
