Timing question
      #1239861 - 03/06/11 08:19 AM

Guys I have tried everything to get my sporty to start quicker. I am wondering if I didnt get the marks exacty lined up, if that would alter the starting process. It starts everytime but it takes a while. Most vehicles I have had start very quickly, most you just have to bump the key and they will start.
Also I am wondering if I didnt get all the marks exactly, if that would contribute to the performance also.
I may have to go and tear it back apart and look at the timing marks again.

If the timing marks don't line up, it won't run properly, ever...

The sound is something mechanical, start with the timing, end with the electrical and check everything inbetween...

do your sporty's start faster than that?

I dont think it is a fuel problem, once it starts it will run all day. Its just getting it going.

When I did my timing and saw what marks had to line up I then realized you can't really make a mistake on it. It will either be on or off and if it is off I would guess it would not run well at all.

Good Luck, let us know.
