Ok. Here's the skinny.
A/C belt squeals like a banshee. It is properly charged, new belt, the clutch activates properly when jumped per the manual. The clutch kicks in and out every 8 - 15 seconds. Which seems wrong to me. Sometimes it kicks in so hard that it will stall out the engine at idle. The belt squeals from 2.5K in 2nd all the way to 3k in 3rd. For instance, while at a red light its fine, then once the light turns green and I take off, its good. By the time I'm through the intersection its howling.Once I'm up to 35 or 40 mph it stops. It doesn't do it any other time, when it starts to yell I push the a/c button off then right back on and it stops. I'm thinking the compressor. Its getting way to [censored] hot in a black truck here on hell's front porch. Ideas?

Can you add a can of oil to it? Might...maybe...help for a while.

Did it get overfilled with oil or refrigerant?
It seems like the compressor is fighting against the high side pressure till things get up to speed.
I'd take it to a shop that specialized and have a flush and fill done and a new drier installed. Cheaper than a new compressor and it would eliminate an overfill/blockage from the list.

The compressor clutch will cycle although that seems short to me. My '97 does it from about 30-45 seconds to every couple minutes depending on the ambient air temp and my '03 seems to behave pretty much the same. It should NOT stall out the engine at idle. Sounds like the idle isn't kicking up to compensate for the extra load put on by the AC compressor and the aux electric fan.
I've had problems with belts (A/C, fan and power steering) from aftermarket suppliers slipping and squealing. Doesn't seem to matter where they came from, who installed them or how they were adjusted. I have NEVER had a problem with the factory belts. I had to replace all the brand new belts on my '03 that the Jeep dealership just installed two months ago. They were installed correctly. Both myself and the tech at the Mitsu dealership checked and readjusted them several times. That didn't stop both the A/C and power steering belt from squealing. I suggest replacing the A/C belt with one from the dealership first. Slipping belts can cause some very strange behavior. Either way, that belt needs to be replaced if it's slipping that bad. You won't ever get it to stop slipping permanently once it's glazed.

Its getting a helluva lot worse. The belt is surely glazed, but I've never had a problem with a gates green belt. I was also thinking about the oil in the compressor and I think that it may have too much in it because it was way overcharged when I first started checking the a/c out. About how much of a price difference is there between a factory Mitsubishi belt and a gates or Goodyear belt?

It was in "the blue" on the gauge. What is it, 30 40 psi? Also, are the Mitsubishi's known for a COLD a/c? I've heard on several occasions that the air just doesn't blow that cold on the Mitsubishi's. Seems like B.S. to me.. A/c is A/c if it works properly it should be cold right? Everything else on these vehicles is tough as hell and just flat out works, so why shouldn't the a/c?

My previous experience with these systems is nothing short of entirely impressive, Devil. Even my old trucks would get so cold you'd lose feeling in your hands after a bit and have to adjust the vents away from your digits.
Something isn't right with your system. You need to either gain a knowledge of what the gauges are telling you or take it to someone who does know.
Because we care... and if it's hot enough to fry an egg (it is here!), it's hot enough to fry your brain. And that would be a terrible thing to waste.

Yeah.. Its not so much gaining the knowledge of the system its gaining the tools to fix it properly. Probably the only tools that I don't have are a/c gauges and the like. You know its hard to admit that you don't have the tools to fix something when your in my line of work.
Your A/C blew cold enough to numb the fingers huh? That's what I like to hear.
