I had to change my resovoir 3 times in the past year due to leaks (brake symbol was coming on). I have a new one in right now. I do not have anti-lock option with this Sportage --like my other ones.
Well, to make a long story short-----My brake pedal can be pressed all the way to the floor if I push it that far. Is that Normal?
And it seams that it lacks braking power when I try to stop. I have brand new ceramic in the front and the drum area is brand new. The fluid is full in the res.
Does anyone think that there could be air in the line?
What are the signs and symptoms for this?
I asked the mechanic to bleed the fluid, and he said that it did not need it!
Or are our brakes really weak?

Sounds like your brake master cylinder has gone. Mine went when I first bought it and exhibited the same symptons. Could not bleed up the brakes no matter what.
Look at replacing that and you should be good to go.
Cheers, chris

I had the Master C changed already----isn't it the reservoir?
What other parts are they?

Same reservoir, different cylinders. Master cylinder is the cast steel thing with the attached brake lines, and is what the reservoir is attached to. If that has been replaced, sounds like you have air in the lines. Would recommend having them bled again by professional. Everet

If the culinder is ok I vote for Everet's opinion If the bouster was bad the pedal would be very hard, like braking with the engine shut.

If the booster has a leak in the diaphram the pedal will go to the floor unless you pump the brake pedal.

Forgive my ignorance in this matter, but if the Booster is bad does it leak any fluid????
