99' Factory Turbo ????
      #1064807 - 12/28/07 03:53 PM

Just took an intresting ride thru the jungles of Hondoras in a 99' Sporty long body with a factory I4 Turbo Gas engine! I knew they had a Turbo diesal outside of North America, but this is the first encounter with the Turbo on the gas engine, from looking under the hood, it looks like our engines but with the obvious Turbo.

So if it was a factory option, shouldn't we be able to buy the turbo module and with a little moding bolt it on to our non turbo engines?

I doubt he would have sold it, as he makes his living driving tourists around in it. There was a line up of jeeps with a lone sporty mixed in to take us into the 'bush' everyone thought I was mad when i picked the Sporty over a heep!

Did the guy speak english? Do you have his contact info? Does he have a computer? Did you take pictures of the engine and turbo?

Please say yes to all of these!!!

Can we get him on the board and post pictures so we can start picking this thing apart to adapt what he has to our Sportages here?

A factory turbo or any turbo for that matter would be AWESOME!!!

why do most other countries get the cooler stuff? Yea we have some decent cars around here, but for the most part, the better models are NOT here. You can't even opt for the turbo sportage in america, yet they make them in other countries.

Hay, I got an idea.

Nuke is looking for a new Sportage and he likes spending time south of the border.

Maybe we can get him to go to Honduras and buy one of these and bring it back to the states?!?

Maybe if we all chip in a little for his air fare down there we can talk him into doing it!
