ARB vs DON
      #977257 - 02/28/07 05:51 PM

Hey Guys what's up, I've got a question for everyone. I was walking out of the supermarket the other day, and noticed that someone had hit my front bumper. Not a great deal of damage, but enough to were I need a new one. Now I want some beef up front.

I was looking into ARB or Don front bumpers, but wasn't sure which one is better. For anyone who has one what do you think? Which one weighs more, and which one can take more abuse? I don't beat my rig up, but want something solid.

I've got a 91 LWB, with 31" ProComp Xterrains, would like to put a winch on in the future. Tryin' to build her up, slowly but surely. Hope to hear some thoughts, Thanks.

I can't speak for the ARB bumper, but my Don bumper rocks! The entire lower portion is 1/4" steel plate. IIRC it was about half the price of an ARB at the time I bought it (2 years ago).

I'd choose DON. It's Mitsu Owner made, Mitsu Owner Tested, and Mitsu Owner Approved.

Don't you hate it when stuff hits your truck? I woke up one morning and noticed a tree hit my car.. Just being an

That's what I've been looking for CapnCrunch. You said that's a Don bumper but I'm kinda new to that name. Couldn't find them on the web. Could you let me know where you purchased it? How much was that, if you don't mind me asking?

Don is on this board.

Mitsu Gen I armour (look a little more than half-way down the page). It was about $440 plus shipping, but I don't think he's updated his page because steel prices have gone up since then. Plus, Don's schedule might be kinda tight to get one built right away, so you'll have to check with him.

If I had to pick between the two, Id take the Don too. The price is right and no one has had issue with them. Not that I've read anyway, and I've read quite a bit of the Archived material.

That bumper will fit a gen2. Might be one or two pics on the Uwharrie pic thread. I will look later.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Thanks! I've put a lot of time, effort, and money into it.....a lot more than most people do. Heck, just this week alone I'm in the midst of doing four more mods to it.

Yes they are. I have a full set of Don's wares (front bumper, rear bumper, and sliders). Don has seen me beat the hell out 'em in person. After seeing the sort of punishment I dished-out to them, he made the remark that he's going to have me do his field-testing.
