The idea behind this forum is to bring together the various groups of vehicle owners to ask questions and share tips on tools, techniques, and fabrication. Because tools and fab are not vehicle-specific, we hope to get great ideas from across the various vehicle-specific groups.
Some suggested topics for this forum include:
- Discussion of tool applicability to a job
- Where to find good tools, and what brands work best
- Sharing tips on effective work methods or creative ways to get things done
- Welding
- Tube bending
- Fabrication

Having a bit of trouble with this board. When I click on the tools and fab, all I get is this sticky post. Yet the forum clearly states 100 plus topics.
So I clicked directly on the last post over at the right before even entering the tools and fab board, got to that post and clicked the tools and fab from right above the post on the left and was able to see the full board.
Oh well some glitch in the software I guess

In the forum front page (where you're seeing the link for this thread), look at the bottom left where there is the date range to display threads. It defaults to 2 weeks, but if you adjust it to a longer period of time, you can see what's been posted prior.

A month ago I was looking for information on how to repair rusted out floors on a Jeep Cherokee. I mainly wanted to get a visual idea of what I was up against but didn't have the patients to keep looking. So, I just dove in got busy and then later got the idea to shoot some video (see link at bottom). I own allot of tools and ambitions but as you might be able to tell, I'm not an auto mechanic and don't claim to be. But, I did fix it for under $100.00. If anyone replies back, referring to me as "Butch", I'll understand....
