Bout to get a 3rd gen... hopefully on Saturday. Anyways, other than Old Man Emu lift kits, what are some other good options for a 2 inch-ish lift all the way around? Lookin to tuck 33's with minimal rubbing and gain some wheel travel(flex). What sorta lifts are you guys running on your 3rd gen 4runners? Pics are cool too.

Sweet, thanks for that link. Seems like the OME HD springs and Regular shocks would work well for me. Looks like the average lift is about 2 - 2.5" ... is that right? No need for dif. relocation with this type of lift from what I understand. Nobody really mention if there is any improved articulation with OME spring shock combo... can anybody chime in on that?? What are factory wheel travel specs vs OME ??

Unless you disconnect the swaybar you won't be getting anymore travel. How much you can get max is a complicated question and there are many variables. The OME shock will allow another 1.5" of travel.
I have about 10.5-11" of total front wheel travel but with other tweaks as well.
I also run 33" tires. You will have lots of rubbing unless you use a body lift or cut and pound especially if you are looking for travel. You also need either the correct rims, correct arms or spacers to get things to clear.

Lars,
I was definatly planning on getting some disconnects. Did you have to relocate your dif or not? 33x11.5's won't work on the factory rims? Thats a bummer, I want to keep the stockish look.

I see on your website that you did the dif drop, not sure if that was before or after the spacers. I guess I'll just have to install the springs and see what happens.

Nope, definitely not useless to disconnect the swaybar. On the front, you increase the travel from 4" per wheel to 7" assuming you don't have any other mods. Plus you get 10" if you have aftermarket upper control arms and any of many possible coil-overs/lifts in the front. It's a huge advantage to disconnect the swaybar in front when off-road! I ALWAYS disconnect the front when off-road. It makes off-roading on difficult trails with IFS very possible.
Disconnecting the rear swaybar is worthless. In a "new" stock 3rd gen 4Runner you would get about 12" of wheel travel in the rear. If you simply change the stock short rear shocks to OME shocks, you'll get about 14" of travel with the swaybar connected. After a couple years of use, the swaybar will have fatigued enough to give you 15" of rear travel. If you disconnect the rear swaybar, you'll still get 15" of rear travel but you'll have a lot more sway since you won't have any swaybar then. (Again that assumes the popular OME rear shocks or similar).
It's better to move the longer and stronger front swaybar endlinks from the front to the rear. I actually pulled my stock rear endlinks through the upper mount on the frame before I did that switch. It puts less stress on the mounts with the longer endlinks back there.

yea but your only gaining a slight amount of droop and if that tire is in the air or not it still isnt going to hace traction to it without a locker....if you have a locker then the sway bar disco's would be effective

But more wheel travel means you keep the tires on the ground more, so you can do a lot tougher stuff before getting wheels in the air or needing a locker.

I already have the e-locker out back, will most likely leave the front open. I may just get some new upper a-arms to help w/ the ball joint/tire clearance issues. Also most likely will be running a differential drop and panhard drop bracket out back. That being said, I think I get away with a taller spring. Seems like the lift kits available are kind of a mixed bag. I have not seen anything much more than 2.5 inches up front... are there 3" lifts out there for the front??
