Looking For A Schematic
      #787499 - 09/28/05 12:22 AM

I am looking for the schematic for the rear window defogger switch on a '91 Trooper. The upper part of the switch is lighted with the dash lights, the lower part is lighted with the switch activated, and oh, by the way, it sends current to the defogger. There are 5 pins in the harness.

I am going to use the switch to activate an electric compressor for some nefarious project.

Did you look at my past post where someone was asking for wiring diagrams Jim?I posted the wiring diagrams for the engine and another for everything else for both a 2.6 and a 2.8 trooper , so it was good from 87-91 troopers. Also I think those wiring diagrams are still on my homepage if you take a look there. Not sure how well it will show the switch , but it should show the wiring , and from there you should be able to figure out how the switch is wired.Hope that helps Oh , I believe the post was last month , nut not sure , would be easiest to just go to my homepage

Actually all I need is a description of the pin-outs for the switch if that would be easier.

OK, the pinout for TII says:
Pin 1 to fuse 11 , pin2 and 4 to interior light sys, pin3 goes to defog and pin5 goes to ground (for "on" illum.) Hope this helps.

Here's a link to a zipped file of this circuit's schematic. I'll leave it up a while in case others need it. Cal

Hey, you answered one of my questions too! Regarding the location of the 20A defogger fuse. Your diagram says "Behind left side dash, right of steering column". Can't get much more descript than that. Sorry about the hijack.

So..what other diagrams do you have TroopaDoopa? I'll take any I can get since I don't have a service manual (Haynes and Chilton are so-so)

Best info out there and you can't light it on fire like a manual can.
