1994 Ranger fuel filler tube cracked
      #701738 - 03/24/05 04:20 PM

Any advice on where to get a fuel filler tube for less than $100? My wife's Ranger has had a leak for some time now. Just took the time to lift her up and check out the hose and it is quite cracked. She's called around and the dealer is asking $250ish.... That is insane! Is it called something other than a filler tube?

$250 that is crazy

Go to the local juck yard. If there is no local junk
yard. Find one on-line search salvage ford parts.
Should find it for at least half that price.

Agree that is crazy, stupid really! If I am going to get this part at a junk yard, I am not going to pay more than $50. Gotta be a place to get one for under $100.... Going to pull the one that is on there and either patch it using that army training or replace with a fuel resistant hose that will clamp on to both ends....

UPDATE: Okay, pulled the old one off yesterday to see if it could be swapped out with just a piece of fuel resistant hose. No-way. This is a very molded tube with a hose inside it! I see now why they are wanting so much for them new.... I am just so used to my Jeep with her fill and vent hoses being side-by-side, not inside eachother....

Still don't want to spend very much money on this thing. Suggestions?

I've never heard of that either.......definately try a junk yard or any parts store like advance auto parts, they are always cheaper than the dealer.
