Calmini winch bumper for Rodeo Sport
      #379476 - 10/31/03 09:19 AM

I am probably going to replace my stock bumper with the Calmini winch bumper. Are there issues I should be aware of with the '01 Rodeo Sport? I assume the airbags will still work (no sensors in affected areas). Is there other bumpers available other than the Calmini and Stinky Fab bumper. I'm trying to keep the weight down so I don't have to put in heavy duty t-bars. I'll use Superline in the winch (only weighs a few pounds). You guys are right. This modification thing is a mental illness. I probably need counseling or at least some medication.

Thanks,
Pete

The DOR bumper looks great. I somehow missed it on their site. Thanks. I think it's a decision between Calmini and DOR. I knew about the ARB, but I think it looks a too massive on the front of a Amigo/RS. Any input out there regarding Calmini vs. DOR bumpers? I have the Calmini winch bumber on my 2000 Rodeo. The bumper is fine, I like it and the way it looks on my truck.

The biggest problem I had with it was the wait, took many months to receive mine (nearly a year if i remember correctly) due to manufacturing. I believe they wanted enough orders to reduce the cost. I don't blame them for doing that.

This wasn't a big problem for me however it is something to ask Calmini about before you order if time is an issue for you.

If Calmini doesn't have any bumpers in stock then DOR might be able to get your bumper too you more quickly.

Calmini has never done wrong by me and I plan on buying more of their products in the future. If I had known about DOR or Indi4x back when I did my lift and bumper purchase I might have gone a differnt way since I could have customized my bumper (shackles, receivers, etc).

P.S. you can check out my bumper here:

Thanks, Sam. Actually it was your picture recently that got me thinking about a winch bumper (plus damaging mine at Uwharrie - sometimes damage is a great thing!

Anyone have a good side pic of the DOR bumper (like Sam's 2nd pic).

It is easy! I assume it is simmilar to the 98/99's. All you have to do is disconnect the fog lights (assumeing you have any) then there are 4 bolts right on the tie downs. There are some rubber grommets which keep the bumper from bouncing right below the fenders, but they should allow the bumper to just come right off.

good luck- have fun

Yeah. I was just thinking about that . And, is there a market for a used stock bumper?

Calmini claims their bumper is easy to install (subframe bolt on). How does the DOR mount?

There is a small market for used bumpers if they are in good shape. All those people who dont mod their rides and get into accidents. My mom actually just sold her stock bumper to someone, tho it did take a little bit of time to sell.
