Rip Lips - Tera wants a minimum of 20 before they will even do R&D. If they get more than 20 it is not a problem. If they are like most manufacturers, they will produce in "lots", apparently lots of 20. So as the first 20 run out (assuming they get produced), they would then manufacture another lot of 20, etc.

WHaaaaat? Two ARBs? Now that would be terrible, wouldn't it.
Thanks for the info Dan. Looks like I need to do a little research on Trooper FAQ's.
Axle swap, Naw!! I'm gonna keep this one kinda stock...

Oh for the head count.
Deposit: Put me down for one each.

Thanks for the info Steve. I reckon I'll go ahead and take a dive for the cause and get in on the first run...sorry Matt, you'll have to wait, there are more important things to handle right now. Now if I can just search through the 2 million posts and find that damn phone #...

NO! not at all, in fact, they want as many as they can get. They'll go beyond 20... if we can get it up to 40 pre-orders, the price will drop for everyone.
And 20 orders is the minimum to get the production run going. If we meet this, Tera has agreed to not only produce our 20, but add an additional 30 gearsets for a total of 50 sets. If we make 40 deposits, they'll produce 100 gearsets.

ok so that looks like 6

3 fronts and 3 rears .

i'm sure Rob deposited...

Ed's makes 2 more

so like 5 of each..........ok...so there would still need to be 15 more folks to jump in.

is this offer on other boards? ITOG, Planet, Isuzu suvs, Edmunds, Pirate........there just are not enough serious folks here to make it happen (i see the foreheads wrinkling w/ anger) or maybe there are too many people who are too serious - beyond the point where these are a benefit.

BTW the 5.13 is not 100% set as the ratio they have to go with .......... what do you guys think is a good ratio..

say if you could have any ratio......IE what is the goal w/ your rig? (keep it brief....no retrospectives on your life mission...simple question )

Keep in mind this is only for the 12-bolt. R&D is complete on the 10-bolt and ready to produce as soon as the min. order is met. 12-bolt R&D will begin as soon as 5 pre-orders are made. I believe from reading the posts above, we already have 3... so 2 more and R&D begins. If we get R&D going on soon, its very possible the 10 and 12 bolts gears can appear at your door at the same time.

I don't know Matt, i'm remaining optimistic. I mean, the capacity is there... look at the ARB pre-orders, that was met and the deposit cost was as much as the final product here. We just need to keep the word out there and continue support.
I think the largest problem here is there are plenty of people out there with the money for a deposit and who would like the gears, but are holding off becuase they're waiting to see how it goes, how many other people put down first before they do. If you have the money and have ever thought about regearing, we need you to put down your money and do so right away.
The first half of the deposits are the hardest to get. Once we pass over that hill and show people it stands a chance at happening, we'll start having more come out of the woodwork.

my point is that i have lots of customers who are not Wire people.

i just want to make sure we are not limiting this project to a few.

don't need to preech to the converted so to speak

trust me i want this to happen as much as you do!!!

R&D is complete on the 10-bolt and ready to produce

RobG and everybody, please note that this sounds better than nothing but there currently is no 5.13 gear set for a Dana 44 and there currently is no 5.13 gear set for an Isuzu 12-bolt, so what good does having R&D done on the 10-bolt (and having 20 deposits) just on this one item do?

I think this is where Matt's question is leading, we really have 4 items that need to be accomodated at one time:

1) Isuzu 10-bolt
2) Isuzu 12-bolt
3) Dana 44
4) Toyota

Items 1 & 2 will satisfy some, items 1 & 3 will satisfy some and just being thorough I wouldn't want to exclude the Toyota conversions.

For the Dana there is currently 4.89 & 5.38 gears available.

For the Toyota there is 4.88 & 5.28 currently available.

I am going from memory so don't bust my balls if I am wrong, I am using these numbers as an illustration, not fact.

We have 2 or 3 courses of action:

1) Produce any gear ratio we want for all 4 of the above gear sets.

2) Produce 3 gear sets for Isuzu 10 & 12 plus either the Dana 44 or the Toyota

3) Produce 2 gear sets for the Isuzu 10 & 12 that match either the Dana 44 or the Toyota ratios.

4) Produce just for the 10 and 12 bolt and screw the rest of you (this would keep me happy, since I have a 1st gen)

Again don't bust my balls, I want everybody to get what they want and I don't want to exclude anyone. But from a retail perspective (spell that "manufaturers need to make money buy selling product") it is not as simple as we may first assume.

Steve "Just Muddy the Waters" G

PS The Toyota is the only "non" Isuzu item listed here. To bad Toyota and Dana don't match gear ratios, this could simplify our ability to keep everybody happy.

Rob-

Something that will help is knowing a timeframe. Has Tera put a end-date on when they want deposits by? This will help a whole bunch in bringing in the big picture. It will also satsify Matt because it will possibily motivate people to do something.

I'll try my darndest to get my deposits in today or tomorrow. (10 and 12 bolt) It is a little difficult to get to a phone lately.

Michael
