2.6 EGR Tube
      #241741 - 05/11/02 05:17 PM

Does anyone know what size threads are used with the EGR tube fittings on a 2.6? I need to tap the threads on the exhaust manifold to install a new tube, but can't find anyone who knows what thread size they used, other than metric.
Or if someone has a spare exhaust manifold around, with good threads????
Greg

What year engine? Does your EGR tube connect to the exhaust manifold with the big round flared fitting, or the 2-bolt flange?

I've got a couple of the 2-bolt flange type manifolds you can have one for shipping (or free if you'll be in Moab).

The 2-bolt flange type uses 2, M8x1.25 mm studs/nuts. I'm not sure what size the other big, threaded flare type fitting is.

[Edit: Doh! Just saw your sig and you probably have the big flared fitting. Sorry, can't help with that one.]

[Embarrassed] Dude, I totally forgot. Glad you were able to find the answer. That taps gonna run you a few bucks. Know anybody with a machine shop that cound loan it to you for an evening? If you do have to purchase, one of the industrial supply companies is best(Mcmaster, grainger, J&L, MSC)
Where is St. Paul, I know MSC has Indiana locations)
And here I was SOOO proud for not checking the wire while at work yesterday............. [Roll Eyes]
