NOOB question.....1990 4Runner
      #1268060 - 08/17/12 10:19 AM

OK, I am now the proud temporary owner of a 1990 4Runner. I'm going through it before my step-son gets it. The front side marker lights do not work. No biggie. How the heck does one remove the marker light to check the bulb? I removed the 2 screws attached to the rear of said marker light assembly, and was hoping that sliding it forward would release it. No go. No owners manual. Suggestions? Thanks!

Pop open the hood and see if you have a screw that goes in from the top. It would be right there in the front corner. My 3rd gen is like that.

I don't think the front markers have a bayonet pin that would make popping it off difficult.

You might have to get a common SD between the trailing edge of the light assembly and the fender, and give it a couple good whacks to pop it loose.

Found it.. After looking at pics of replacement parts online, I just needed to pry harder between the grill by the headlight, and the marker lamp housing, than I was. There are 2 pegs the pop into place on the grill. Lights fixed BTW. Thanks!

Cool. The roomie's Corolla brake light assemblies have pins on them that are about 2" long. It's a bear to get 'em off, but they'll come off.
