Help with shipping a boat windshield from Raleigh area
      #1267145 - 07/20/12 06:56 AM

I have a chance to buy a used WS for a classic Glastron boat that is in Selma NC. The seller does not have the resources to pack it for shipping but is willing to meet up with someone in the area.
Would anyone here be able to collect this, box it so it can ship up here to Vermont?
I expect a heavy triangular cardboard would be stiff enough to protect it.

Not close enough to help, or I would. Is that from a G-3. Looks kinda familiar...

If it was down Atlanta way I would have called you Eddy,
It is off a CVX-18 Glastron, I need it for my CVX-20 I bought last year, it is a foot and half wider than a Glaspar G3.
I almost bought a Glaspar mid winter but had just bought a bunch of engine parts for the Yamaha on my 20.

That would be cool, the WS is in or near Selma (I-70 & I-95) which may or maynot be closer to you. Where on the shore are you, I can ask if he travels out your way.

It takes me a little more than a full tank in my 91 LWB to get to Raleigh and back. If you are in a hurry I can probably go tomorrow to get it for half the cost of the gas.. say 40 bucks. Didnt plan on it but, I have a fishing buddy over there that knows the canals up in Durham so I can make a day out of it if he's avail tomorrow not sure.

If your not in a hurry I'll pick it up for free after the first of next month when I head to Shearon Harris Lake to do some bass fishing. Wife has been on my about expenses since the bass boat purchase and the expenses its incurred (mostly its insatiable appetite for fuel)

Not that big a rush, I need to pay for the WS first anyway. There is also a chance Dadrab will be able to collect it in a week since his wife is traveling through the area next weekend
And yes, my wife is not a fan of this boat as well, at this time mine has been consuming hours and materials since I am just finishing a major structural restoration. I have only puttered about on my pond in the past week, will head out to a lake for real testing soon.

Sounds good, I did not get the seller this afternoon by phone and just sent and email an hour ago to start arraignments. He is quite easy to get in touch with during the week if I don't get him in the next day.
