WTB: 90 v6 front diff gearing
      #1266700 - 07/09/12 08:41 AM

Alrighty, I am having a tough time sorting out gearing for my wagon. I was going to swap parts from my 92nh, I will take jsut the rear air locker diff. but for the front I need different gearing.

does anyone have 4.875 gears for the front diff for a 90 pajero v6?
its the 8" low pinion diff.

that would be a 91 montero for you guys since I am in australia.

I've only seen that ratio in our 92-93 SR Gen 2s,,,and they were 7.5 high pinion. I think there was an 8" front ring gear in the for sale maybe 2 months ago.
I think early 2.6 models had that ratio as an option, but it's probably a 7.5" low pinion, and very rare.
Hopefully someone more in the know will jump on here.

Ive admittedly not done a whole lot of research yet in axle gear ratio's, but I do have a complete stock rear LSD diff gear assembly, as well as a complete stock rear diff out of a Conquest/Starion that I once read was a popular swap out for the front diff on a Montero/Raider. Ihad hoped to one day read up on it some more and maybe attempt a swap and trial run myself - I jsut never get around to it. if anyone is intersted just shoot me a PM.

Yes we do here. When I worked at the wrecking yard and even here at NAPA, Gear ratio's don't always work out so they are simple. There is a ford ratio (I thnk it was ford) that was 3.545 but they list it as 3.55 for simplicity. Going 3 places is a little anal on a manufactures part.
