It should be right around there lloyd. After buying the dealer rear its just a matter of finding the right price for the right diff from the right yard for the front. We all decided that we need to get you a front end without the vacume actuator. If we don't find one locally we may be able to get one from car-part.
On a side note, is anyone available saturday to lend me a hand?

SAS's ROCK! I don't think Lloyd wants his truck hanging around here for another year. We need it done so we can get Kevin's SAS going.

Yeh, SAS is such a huge project, especially to get it right for the long hauls to major western wheeling spots. Also running out of money. Never know down the road. Need to get some other things done such as roof rack as well. Maybe in a couple of years if Kevins is rocking.

It really is a project. I am really excited to get it done and see the results though. It should make for a very capable rig when all said and done. Hopefully it turns into more of a trend around here one day. Money also plays a big factor in it too. I am trying to do it on the cheaper side and ill end up spending $2000 and thats for it to be under the truck and wheelable. That doesn't include the upgrades to a 44 though. I'm gonna do RCV shafts which will run me $1400, at least I'll have peice of mind though.

After owning several IFS rigs, a TTB rig, building a (I think anyway) pretty good SAS rig, and now owning a factory SFA vehicle.. my opinion is IFS is just fine. I don't regret what I've learned and I don't deny the flexibility benefits inherent to a live front axle, but I also can't say that anything about having a solid front axle has at any time ever improved my enjoyment of traveling the outdoors, vs doing so with independent front suspension.
I would not at this time choose to recommend a SAS to anyone nor use it as a factor in a future vehicle purchase decision.
