Should have had me rebuild them. The 350chevy I just built for a 260hp Mercruiser repower is just dandy. Ask him if he want's me to diagnose it...

A Couple is selling an 89 Ranger bassmaster classic with an Evinrude 150 right in my neighborhood...I'm taking a real close look at it. Its 17'10" very nice, but, pushing the limit of what I want to tow...I may just get it anyway for I'll be mostly local shine it up use it and sell when I move back...

The late 80's early 90's johnson\evinrude OMC products were pretty good. Although any outboard motor that old is bound to have some issues if you plan on using it regular. OMC's QC went to crap sometime in the mid 90's when they shifted production to Mexico. Shortly there after they filed for bankruptcy reorganization.

I bought a 92 Johnson 150 fast strike model on a 21ft ski boat in 93. The dealer said that boat will probably run about 50 with a 21 SS pitch prop. We took it to the lake the afternoon I bought it. It was like a rocket with that prop. 0-50 in less than 6 seconds, boat literally jumped out of the water. Ended up with a 24 pitch that Cruises 45MPH and topped out around 65. Boat still running today(knock on wood) with only a couple replaced power packs and trim motor relays. It was used HEAVILY during the 90's, but sadly has not seen much action the last 3-4 years. I think I will go bust that sucker off this weekend and ride it around the lake a few times.
