Depending on when/where, I'd be down to meet up.
Of course, you're all more than welcome to show up to Second Thursday INO meets with the DSM/Mitsubishi crowd each month. I haven't been in a while, but John B and Company (I wanna say "Hose B," not sure if that's right) made it out once.
This is a long-standing Mitsubishi event, but half the guys who show haven't brought out their Mitsubishis in years. One guy is usually in a Corvair, another rolls a Supra or an Altezza. Another guy tends to show up in a plain-Jane, white Chevy work truck. It's just a simple get-together to talk shop and catch up. And there's plenty of room.
Details: Second Thursday of every month, approx 7PM to whenever In-N-Out Burger, I-10 & Ray Road in Chandler *just east of I-10 on the north side of Ray, Lowes parking lot
I'll be there on 12 April with my new Raider, and my friend Mike - who is buying my GVR4 - will be there as well. Simple, low key event. Gearheads welcome.

Well I am down to meet up whenever. Things will be a little tight in the next couple weeks, as I'm running out of time to get that Galant wrapped up for the new owner, but I would really like to get to know more locals.
Raider past emissions last week and got tagged yesterday, so we're officially in DD mode.

We should have a meeting somewhere with a lot of parking, Clay's comes to mind. Then there are the various lakes that have parking lots BBQ grills and places to dispose empty beer cans/bottles. Just sayin' nice weather.

Got the Galant running yesterday. Aside from a rally in California mid-May - and the odd, automotive projects in between - I should be down. Really looking forward to meeting up with everyone in person.

I know I'm not cool enough to own a Montero anymore but I'm going to be down at Haus Murphy's tonight some time after 8 or 8:30.. (that would be the date of this post, Friday) if anyone else feels like having a cheap beer & hanging out, maybe discussing some 'wheeling or wrenching or whatever's cool.
*edit* apparently now I'm going to Haus Murphy's.. yay!

I'd join you WW, but I'm going to be helping my brother replace the engine in his Jeep starting tonight and most of the weekend. I've replaced, or helped replace more engines in the past 6 months, than I have in my life!
Just looked up where that place is at. It's a hike for us far east-siders. We need to find a place in the middle of all of us and set up some monthly "meetings".

I am SO bummed to see I missed this.
A) Haus Murphy's is one of my favorite restaurants here in town. (Nothing else in the state is closer to real German food, imo.) B) I had a really rough Friday the 13th this year. (Kid lies, his insurance denied my claim.)
If the local 4WD group has a tendency to meet up at Haus Murphy's, I'm almost ashamed to have spent the last decade playing with cars.

Obviously we should meet at johnnyB's house next Saturday. Seems like the easy answer to the meeting issues. If we get there early enough we can watch the next door neighbor fix the wall. You do not want to miss this. Last week John charged for the entertainment. It was worth the price of admission.

I was at JohnnyB's this past Saturday. Jose is a machine. I have some cool neighbors, but none of them just randomly start trimming my trees and cleaning up my yard.
I'd be down to go back this weekend, except I will be in California for a rally. Definitely want to meet up with everyone again.

I have some cool neighbors. And I have some that are a bit sketchier. It really depends on luck as to who stops by. All admission charges go to a good cause (beer).

Looks to be about halfway between us, sir. High Desert Trails Rally in Ridgecrest, California.
I figure it will take me about 9 hours each way. Wouldn't be possible without JohnnyBfromPeoria's help this past weekend, either.

My pleasure. Given more time, we could've dug a bit deeper.
One tip about the M/T: don't remove the drain plug before you make sure you can remove the fill plug. Ask me how I know.
Since your truck doesn't have the LSD rear (I believe), don't add any friction modifier, just regular smelly gear lube. Use whatever you use in the diffs in the transfer case as well, as I recall. Go synthetic, as we talked about. I have a gear lube pump to refill everything, but they're cheap if you have to buy one.
Ask Pat if he knows about the radiator condition, provided you don't know already. That water pump "looked" new. I didn't even think to check if it was a 3-row or just two.
Are you still getting the little "grind" downshifting into 2nd?

THAT sounds like a solid warning. Appreciate the head's up on that one. Will do for sure!

I think I recall Patrick mentioning the truck had an LSD out back. (Give the e-brake a couple clicks to engage it on the trail, right?) Better to run friction modifiers and not need them than vice versa, right? I've got one of those pumps at this end. I think I'll end up going Redline throughout. Treated me very well over the years.

Maybe we'll get lucky, he'll see this post, and reply. So far, it's running nice and cool. No (coolant) leaks, and the color is a nice, bright - clear - green.

It's still not happy reaching down into 2nd for corners, but I'm getting pretty good at double-clutching.
Starting to get excited about this truck. Can't wait to put some serious miles on it this weekend and get out on the trails with the AZ Crawlers soon after!

No synthetic in the rear diff, Ask Kevin what that does to the LSD
Since you drive on the street a little bit of LSD additive would be good, the rest of us don't run the additive because it makes the unit tighter and that's better out on the trail.

Clay's house is central of PA_JERO & LT in the Southeast and JBFP & RyanY in the Northwest, not to mention right down the street from me .
Plus he has the parking spaces for a big turnout.
So Clay, you want to have a meeting on mothers day or the sunday after?

Toasty is trying to get us out on the trail clean-up detail on the 20th.
I'm not going to travel to Flagstaff for the Expo thing. I already know how to camp for weeks on end and I don't need a $100 box to replace the milk crate I already have.

What do you peeps think about a meeting this sunday the 28th. I should have monday off since its memorial day as some of you probably do as well, but either way it doesn't matter. I think we all need to get together and BS about monteros and eat some food and drink some .
My house is far for some of you but is up to having a gathering. I also have a grill and a deep fryer. We could do an AZ crew special and deep fry a bunch of food. I am down for other locations as well.

Are we talking about tomorrow - Sunday, May 27th? I might be able to do that, actually!
Have a Skype scheduled for noon, but I can see about moving it up a couple hours. If I get the brakes done today (while the weather is super nice), I could show up no problem!
Would need an address, though!

I'm planning to be there - I'll bring some adobo marinated pork chops to grill but will need an idea of how many people are going to show up.

There'll be a "meeting" at my house Monday evening. We're planning on cooking things. Those interested should maybe text or PM me if you don't have my number. I have a gas BBQ, an oven and a stove. You know, all fancy.

Wish I would have seen this sooner!
I took the brakes apart Saturday to replace pads, only to discover the rotors needed replaced. Finally figured out how to pull the rotors off the driver front, only to discover Oreilly (only place in town which had them) gave me V6 parts. The right parts were supposed to show up yesterday, but by then, I was tired of taking all that crap apart.
Spent the evening watching Game of Thrones and Sherlock Holmes.

Johnny's was cool, good seeing everyone again. Meetings are cool.
Brian, Sorry about not knowing anything about those brakes and being unhelpful. I've only ever had one bad rotor and just swapped out a complete spindle to replace it because i had one ready to go.

Hard core. Moab AND a BBQ in a single weekend.
I drank beer and watched Game of Thrones and almost did a brake job. :P
I'll catch up with you lads one of these days!
(And no worries on the brakes, Adam. I figured it out, got proper rotors tonight, and will take lots of pictures for a how to in the technical section so other people don't struggle like I did!)

Tomorrow (that would be Thursday 7/19) at Fibber Magee's (Dobson/Elliot) at whenever o'clock after work. I'm there having a few brews for my birthday, feel welcome to swing by if you like.
If you want to bring something, bring jokes about how I already broke my D30 and got stuck out in the desert with scorpions and stuff for 7 hours.

Er.. AJ is near Tucson right? I don't get down there often, but it's probably time for a trip down that way!

Thought I'd bring this post back up. Don't know what alot of your schedules are, but I'll be in the Valley next Thursday. Anyone up for meeting for dinner, and a few ? Prefer Central Phoenix, if given a choice!!
