for a relatively small country we have a lot of different climate areas. especially in winter time.
people tend to think that we live in a desert (yeah right, and we all ride camels), but actually its far more diverse. this is the northern point, called GOLAN HEIGHTS. its not far from the syrian border (check out the tank...).
at some point, in an act of pure stupidity i thought i could cross a field that was covered in snow. real dumb move. at first all seemed well and the kia was doing a nive plow job...but then the snow got real deep and i had to be pulled out. the problem with the golan area is that you can only go into well designated areas - because this used to be syrian land and before we took over these guys left some surprises....so there are still some active minefields. (sounds like we are wheeling in some 3rd world country)and you do not want to get stuck near one - which we did...... anyway - all is well.

I might be coming to AUSTRALIA in a few months time. 15 years ago, when i was 21 (jeez am i that old??), i went to new zeland and Australia for a month (3 weeks in an old holden commodore with no aircon)- it was the best time of my life!! amazing people, great beer . and now that my daughter is 2 years old, im thinking about coming back for a month.
If i do - i will be visiting genie extractors for sure!

Make sure you let us know if you do! But I don't think you would be coming anywhere near the hole in the ground where I live mate! But it would still be good to meet a fellow Sporty enthusiast in person from another part of the world

That's crazy stuff! mines.. haha. We are so friggin' spoiled it kinda sucks. We can't off road alot of places either though.. but that's cause every square foot of the US is owned by someone and that someone always has a problem with strangers offroading. we have the national land and forest lands but they don't like offroaders out there cause it harms the environment they say.. the trails are already there. pisses me off. there's allowed trails but they're mostly boring where I live. I gotta get with the local off road crews here and tag along to where ever the hell they go.

Actually - we are lucky - by law, most of the land thats not built is public - so we can enjoy offroading almost anywhere (but - the whole country is roughly the size of the state of new jersey)

Wow man, that's pretty serious and tempting at the same time! lol
I live here in Southern California, and while there aren't mines here, the offroading is severly limited and getting worse by the day. For an afternoon of fun, I have to drive about 75 miles (one way) to the nearest trails and between 100 and 150 miles to the nearest desert. And even those are becoming smaller and smaller due to the mis-informed politicians and the Bureau of Land Management (evil land grubbers)...
But what can we do but fight the gov and keep wheelin'!!!
