T100 power door lock weak
      #1259790 - 02/21/12 11:50 AM

The power door lock on driver's side is weak - does not always click shut and I often have to push the lever down by hand half way. happens when starting the engine normally but Bigger concern when locking with the remote keyfob - always have to check the handle to be certain.

Is this a solenoid going bad or maybe just need some lube in there?

Don't want to pop off the door panel if I don't know what to look for.

It's probably the motor brushes. The motor can be rebuilt if you have the skills/tools. Seems one can use the carbon brushes they use fer slot cars in the window motors. Give it a shot, take some piccies, and post them up.

Clean your window switches while you have it torn down also.

Anyone know if the 96 T100 is compatible with other Models for the door lock motor? 4runner maybe?
