Anything you want to contribute- there's enough Weber Q.s around; would be nice to have a repository or a tech article (the boss might send ya a shirt)

Great to see you're still around Josh!!

Is there anybody out there that can give me an idea of what I can do to my Weber carburetor to get it pass emission here in Idaho what I have is an 1980 4 x 4 pickup with a 1982 22 R motor and a Weber 32/36 carburetor that doesn't want to pass emission at idle for hydro carbons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Idhank

Mix 1 part gas to 2 parts Alcohol.

This works in California.

I don't have a Weber, but the process should be similar to the FSM one I've been using with the stock carb:
Get a timing light, pull off and plug the vacuum advance on the distrubutor off, and check and dial in the timing. Timing is usually been the root off my not passign emissions.

Next get a tach on the motor and dial in the idle and fuel mixture. This can be accomplished by uping the idle and leaning out the mixture till ya hear the valves get a bit noisy. Then checking the tach slowly making it richer until the idle doesn't go up anymore. Then set the idle and head to the smog shop.

I go through this with my carb'd motor every so often through the smog check. My carb must be getting it screws loose or something after a while

Here's a quick Weber gem:

Ditch the stock fuel pump. When I converted to a Carter 4070 electric fuel pump the truck ran so much better. I've now been using one for several years and it was well worth the $100. I bolted my to the passenger side of the cab right next to the fuel lines so I could just add it inline. LCEngineering sells a fuel pump blockoff plate so the pump can just go away.

If I had to do it again I would have installed it near the fuel filter so I didn't have to listen to the pump because it is loud!
