New Forum Opportunities - Request them here
      #1232357 - 01/06/11 04:19 PM

Another thread has evolved into potential new forum opportunities on 4x4Wire.

I am open to additional topics being established for forums where thoughts and ideas about a specific topic of interest can be shared without getting buried in other topics.

Please use this thread to request new forum topics of interest.

I do request that new topics have a relation to motor vehicles and/or recreation opportunities.

We have a tattered freebie thread in the Mistu tech section. Would something like that make a better forum? Free parts to give or needed?

That would be a good candidate for adding to the Part Bin section...

A free parts bin would be great, set up as a classifieds section.

That would be cool too. Include knives?

A forum about Reuben? Sorry, I couldn't resist

There are plenty of gun/weapon forums, not really needed here.

It would be like me asking for a yacht section because I use my 4X4 to tow a yacht, or a chess section because I use my 4X4 to drive through the snow to get to chess tournaments.

Quite simply not 4X4 related.
Try to keep it relevant.

Forums that don't expand will eventually hit a peak of users and then its a slow decline. Adding a gun section would not make the 4x4wire suddenly become the "4X4WIRE SPONSORED BY KELTEC" (although that would be an added bonus to expand sponsorship opportunities). I don't hunt but I am sure alot of the hunters here do use the 4x4s to get to the hunting cabin or tree stand area. I also think a watersports (lol) forum would be not too far off since I know I take the old access roads down to the swimming holes I went to as a kid. So yea, ideas should not be dismissed over a single persons view against something.

OK then let's make it two.

I agree we don't need a gun forum. Isn't the what the "Off-Topic chat" forum for?

Just my two cents.

I will vote for a gun forum. Most of the current thread on Hunting Rifle Mission Creep was really Frank and I.

I understand and respect that many people are interested or are even opposed to the topic.

I don't think that it is any different than the forum on radio communication. There are very limited number of people who have ever participated in that forum.

I am supporting the idea of a gun section. I would like to see a Subaru section myself . Or, since we all use computers to communicate and I see it pop up sometimes maybe have a computer section, where forum members who are more savvy (Brendan, Stony, myself and others) can advise people on either buying a new computer, or walk people through common problems.
