Damn dumb forum glitch or something. I just wrote out a long post about my trip. When I hit submit it it told me something about hitting the back button.

Cliff's notes

Ruben and I got tired of waiting around for the guys that drove the trails the previous couple of days. Ruben, Eli, and myself went riding with the Isuzu guys not too far behind. I had to be pulled up one hill because my BFG ATs could not grip the slick wet mud/clay hill. The trails were different than 3 years ago when I went. There were too many people which clogged up a couple trails. At camp, there were a lot of good poeple and a lot of good food. I am ready to go again.

No pics from me, I forgot my camera.

That isn't even dirt really on the inside, that just a little bit of Uwharrie mud. Need to wheel the trails IN THE RAIN and then you will get some mud in there.

I have some non-action pictures I will post up later. Till then trail re-cap:

Arrived at 9:30am to an empty campground, found out via my CB that they had just started to head out. Caught up and we did Falls Dam and Dickey Bell, perfect wheeling weather. Pretzeled my exhaust of the hill climb and got some nice 3 wheeling shots. It rained briefly when we were doing the hill climb, but it stopped shortly after.

Ate lunch and hung out waiting on Joe Darlington to show up. People got impatient and wanted to do a trail ride so I offered to take them out on a short run. We did Wolf Den, to Slab Pile (stopped at poser rock for pictures), then cut across the bottom of Rocky Mnt. Loop. Marlin in the VX pop'd a tire on Rocky Mnt. Loop, and we had fun spotting the stock Rodeo with us around the slippery ruts. Headed afterward to the Daniel Trail head parking lot and waited on the group that stayed behind for Joe. We did Daniel and hit the double parking lot just as it got dark. A small group did a rocky mount to saw mill night run, I rode with Peter.

Saturday it was perfect weather until Reuben and Sparkem brought the rain with them. I don't know maybe 5 minutes at the most after they pulled in it started to downpour. We ended up waiting the rain out and got ready to head out. We did Rocky Mount Loop to Saw Mill, then Wolfs Den to Falls Dam.

The trails were even more slippery so we had some fun. We got caught up at a traffic jam on the double ledge before Kodak. That broke up our group so I wasn't able to tell Sparkem and Reuben to take the bypass on Kodak. Another traffic jam ensued. Sparkem and Reuben got stuck after the bypass waiting on Marlin and JP to take their attempts at the rock garden. Everyone ended up backing up and taking the bypass. That is the way it is when its wet, the stuff you can do fairly easy dry becomes impassible.

The Isuzu group stayed behind and we headed on to Saw Mill. Sparkem's A/Ts turned to racing slicks so he had to get strapped up by the rednecks in the Yota that were behind us. To be fair there were trucks with lockers and swampers that couldn't even get up the bypass where Sparkem had to be strapped. Makes me thank god my truck walked up the incline leading into the bypass so easily.

Turns out the Isuzu group stopped for lunch and we were way ahead of them. I radioed back to them and found out their status and decided to head on to Falls Dam. Everything went smoothly except for me denting the crap out of my gas tank and throwing off the sending unit. That was due to me trying to take a different line on the rock ledge, the mud said "Ha ha you aren't taking the left hand line you are going to slide into the middle".

We ended up meeting up with a smaller Isuzu group that had split off from the main Isuzu group at the end of Falls Dam. Reuben had to head home and then Sparkem and I headed back to camp. We beat everyone back and got started on dinner. Sparkem and Chelsea (sp?) cooked up some great food, and combined with the Goulash Janet made, the Chili Mike made, and the Stew another lady made we had A TON of food.

After dinner we sat around the campfire and talked till about 2am (Sparkem and others went to bed earlier). Woke up Sunday morning started packing and head out that afternoon. Was overall a great trip. I just have to start to cope with having so much body damage.

Im going to paint them black along with the mirrors. I de-chromed the rain gutter and front and back windshield. I need another front winch bumper. I hate not having a winch.
