Head Light Trouble Fuse Box Caught Fire
      #1169063 - 07/29/09 11:55 AM

My fuse box caught fire, have replaced all the fuse's and relay's.Everything is working fine apart from the headlight's i can put the full beam on but it wont stay on,side lights come on and stay on fine, but the main problem is the headlights wont come on.If i take a live feed directly from the battery i can get them to come on but can't turn them off.I have a 1994 Pajero 2.8TD LWB.Have no fuse box diagram but have figured out where the relay is for the headlight's but could anyone tell me what is connected directly to the live terminal on my second battery which i assumed was just for the 24v start, not sure what these fuse's or relay are for.Apo,logies about the vague explanation just trying to get the headlight's working again.
Thanks for your time anyhelp would be much appreciated.

Apologies the fuse box caught fire due to a quick fix by someone that will never touch the vehicle again.A solid piece of metal pretty much was placed into the Alternator fuse(the 100amp fuse),obviously got way to hot and made the fuse box case catch fire which subsequently melted all over the fuses and relay's and also burnt the relay or fuse's connected to the 2nd battery.

Thanks Phil at the moment weve wired the side light's into the headlight's so that when you put the side light's on all the light's come on as a temporary measure, starting to think it may have damaged the switch inside the vehicle as the relay is getting nothing from the switch when activated for the main headlight's that is.
Thanks for your time Phil

Does anyone have an updated link for the the fuse box image for a II Gen? It isn't available, I went on their website only to find the same image. And google images throws up some irrelevant and plain weird results.

Also does anyone know if the fuel pump relay physically clicks on when the fuel pump primes? I'm trying to diagnose what I think may be either a dead fuel pump relay/fuse or a dead fuel pump.

Thanks in advance!

Phil's link works, but you need to click this link first:
