Clutch pedal bracket SPRING question
      #1161005 - 06/06/09 06:50 PM

I too fixed my clutch pedal bracket based on the great info in this forum. However, I didn't notice ahead of time exactly how the spring connected. It seemed reasonably obvious, but doesn't seem to be working right. Things were fine for a couple of months, but now I'm having problems with the pedal not returning when I release it.

Could anyone take a pic of their clutch pedal, spring, and bracket so that I could see what it's supposed to look like?

Thanks!

I think that you have the spring connected properly, otherwise it would not have worked for several months prior to giving you this problem. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the clutch master cylinder. The seals were bad. The best thing I did was get a Toyota master cylinder and replace it. I went through 2 of an off brand and they did not hold up.

Check for a part number here: http://www.toyodiy.com/
Then check an online Toy dealer or check your local to see what kind of a price they give you.

I agree with Bill, because when you open the screw to bleed the clutch, the pedal stays on the floor.

All I have to add is that if you are feeling cheap, the dealer has rebuild kits for both the master and slave, they are shown in the toyodiy diagrams.
