It appears Toyota has excellent traceability of which truck serial numbers have the defective ball joints

Hey guys, how would you know that the dealers have replaced them after you brought your trucks in. I am scheduling to have mine done next Monday.

Brought my truck in last Monday, it took an hour of labor. Could not tell the work has been done at all?

Run your VIN with them; should show up.

Did you read your invoice?

I think he just wants to know how you can prove the work is actually done. Put some fingernail polish on the old one.

I had my ball joints replaced on my T-100 and it was obvious the work was done, because everything looked new. I can see on a newer vehicle it may be difficult to determine if the work was done.

Have a great New Year,

Brad

Okay, it's more like--tell them you want them to keep the old parts, so you can inspect them. I go so far as to turn the worksheet my direction to write that information on there myself as a lady customer.

Man, I gotta get this done. Just noticed I have a small tear on my driver's side upper ball joint.

I haven't been on here in forever. I just had to have front ball joints and lower control arms replaced on my 2001 Tacoma 4x4. My truck was not in the recall.
