An Off-Road AutoCross-style Event in Uwharrie!!! ~ May 9-11
      #1071711 - 01/21/08 01:41 PM

Would you believe me if I told you that there will be 160 total competitors, in 4 different vehicle classes, flying like Bats out of Hell in a 7-minute-interval race - all vying for their share of $30,000 in cash and prizes... in Uwharrie???

IT'S TRUE!

When information first surfaced about this event, the reports were met with a great deal of skepticism – so, a few very highly respected members of the NC4x4.com forums, and The Carolina Trail Blazers attended a meeting between the Event Promoter and the Uwharrie N.F. Rangers… Then, a bit later, they had a second meeting with just the Event Promoter…

They all reported back with a slew of enthusiastic Thumbs-Up!

The Uwharrie 4x4Cross Festival is the REAL DEAL!!!

If you don’t want to break your junk, then at least come out and watch some of us do it!

And maybe DogMeat (and an unknown spotter) too.

Officially, I'm the 'Co-Driver / Spotter', but here's what will most likely be the case:

Doug is going to have a steering wheel and a gas pedal in front of him (I doubt he'll remember there's a brake pedal! ) --- I'll have a pair of grab handles in front of me, attached to the roll cage (which I have no intention of letting go of!), and a little button for my thumb that's connected to the horn...

While Doug's right foot is super-glued to the floor, and his hand-eye coordination is busy avoiding pesky things like trees... my job will be to warn any wayward bystanders of our rapid approach -- *Beep-beep-beeeeeeep* *BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!*

The stock Isuzu horn should be plenty-intimidating
