I live in the Dallas area, and everywhere i look, there are the new-style FJ Cruisers for sale on used lots...big dealer lots, tiny local lots....EVERYWHERE... I was just curious why? Is there something wrong with the design? Is the gas mileage that horrible? I'm just curious what you FJ knowledgeable people might give as the answer....i'm not exaggerating, there are so many FJ's on used lots it's astounding! What's wrong? Why aren't people keeping them? I'm just curious!

M.Haggarty thinks they will be collector cars: http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/autos/0701/gallery.future_collectibles/index.html

Not sure where as the FJCruiserForums thread is over 100 pages, but a few guys with no mods or abuse were experiencing bulging where the tearing has been occurring. I only got up to page 60 or so. That is what the poll is about. There are about 60 or 70 trucks cited with bulges or rips. 29 of which had no aftermarket bumper of lift.

From what I've read there is an issue of the integrity of the body panels in the engine conpartment, as well as winshield issues and rear diffs. Check out the cruiser forums, I was considering this rig at one time.
