This looks like a good size/power engine for the Trooper, w/258 ft-lbs of torque. GM is using it in the Saab 9-5, but not in the US of course. I wonder how much it would cost to buy a wrecked 9-5 and bring it to the US

May be more likely to find it in a wrecked Colorado pickup from Thailand or wherever else they sell that engine (in the Colorado/GM Canyon/or whatever model Isuzu sells there).
What are the differences between this engine and the 3.0 L that was less than spectacular in reviews from Europe?
Can't they just put a 3/8 inch plate of steel in the bed to make it heavy enough to be exempt from passenger car emmissions regulations? (And then the buyer could remove the plate to make it lighter!).

Interested, I googled "6DE1 3.0L DMAX" and found the engine was used in several models of three makes of European cars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMAX_V6_engine Yeah, a V6 turbodiesel, sign me up. Brian
