DFW Zu's heading to BMRA Gilmer, TX 5/28-5/30 now w/pics
      #525833 - 05/22/04 08:39 PM

Yes folks we are once again trying to get a gathering out at Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area May 28, 2004 - May 30, 2004. Due to all the other holiday events going on elsewhere around the country the folks at BMRA state that it should be rather light traffic out there.

This is of course open to all makes and models. Also bring the family out with you as well. My parents will actually be coming out with us this time around. I plan on being out there hopefully right when they open the park (5PM??).

We may have some local jeeps heading out there to meet up with us.

As usual let's try and have a rather large attendance. I'm am checking on the use of the Binder's campsite during our stay. So far it is not going to be used.

So as a recap...

Get your rig out there, have some laughs, and take lots of pics.

If anyone is need of general information such as costs, directions, or anything else click here

Hope to see you ALL there.

Sorry I couldn't make the gig today. Family stuff.

As I told Kevin, next weekend I'll be helping a friend move that helped me move a couple of months ago - I owe him bigtime. Y'all have fun and try not to break anything.

I'll be looking for the pics.

Well I understand about returning the favor to your bud. I'm taking the video cam as well though I don't know how to post vid clips here. We'll see what happens.

I'm in for this Friday/Saturday, and then possibly Sunday. It'll be nice if we can get 5 or 6 trucks out there, but I will go with the family solo if I need to. I need to get out in the wilderness for a few minutes. :>

And I just heard from Shawn (with the Thornbirds and the Jeep), and they are in for this weekend as well. so it is gonna have a truck or two at least. Get the fajita meat ready :>

Ok but this time we have to cook it all and eat it all. Eric your doggies can have the left overs.

Also I have been reading up on the aussie install. I think we can do it in less than 1/2 a day. I might be "locked" for the weekend.

I noticed that there isn't a whole lot of responses from the locals. Why is that? Are the dates listed not working for a majority of you? If not we can postpone them for a later date after the holiday. Just post your reponses.

I think Shawn and Chris are a go as well. I am sure Steve will want to come up from Waco as well.

I might be able to make it over Saturday if you don't mind a Toy hanging out with you. I'll have my son with me, he's only 4, I'm teetering on whether he'll be able to hang all day in 90 degree heat, but there's enough dirt there that should keep him happy.

I might be able to come out Sunday afternoon. Hopefully I'll be done with my friend's move into his new house by then. I may bring my 5 year old boy as well. We'll see. I'm jonesin' to get out of town, even if just for a day.

Nah, we don't mind what you drive just come on out ready to wheel. I'll have my son out there too and he's only 19 months. Frisky and Boblarge know how my son rides. (movies and a/c)

There you have it folks!!! As you can see we are starting to build up a variety of attendees.

Hey Kevin,
have you heard from that dude with the Rubicon? I'm keeping my eye on the weather as well. So far it should hold for Saturday, but come down hard on Sunday. Then again weather forecasting isn't really an exact science.

I will eMail the Rubi guy today and see what he thinks. They might want to make it out and see what that thing can do. I am interested in seeing how it does as well.

I got a PM from Shawn, and he and another Jeep are going with us, and there is the possiblity that Chuck from UC might go as well. We might have a get together this time, with a mix of rigs :>

You gonna try that locker yourself this week or what? Did you call Chuck and see what they want to do it?
