Oooh it's got a face only a mother could love As for the tranny bushings, why didn't you go with the marlin HD ones? I have marlin HD bushings (both of them) as well as a URD short shifter (LCE will work well too)... i get nice crisp shifts.
Or a father
Shifts just fine now, no need for anything fancy!

Beefed up the crossmember (still need to get some proper length bolts)
For the longest time I was having starter issues. It would turn over OK when cold, but after it warmed up, and I tried to restart, it would turn over VERY slow and kill the battery, as if the starter was drawing too much power. But if i let it sit for 20-30 minutes it would start right up.
So I figured the $35 parts store reman starter was junk, and I replaced it, along with the battery. Then I started to have a new problem, I was only getting 9v to the solenoid wire. Only enough to make the solenoid "click" but not actually turn over. I ran a jumper straight from the battery to the solenoid on the starter and it turns over great. I tried everything to fix the problem, wire brushed ALL the ground and power connections, but nothing helped. I ended up wiring a momentary toggle switch that controls both the ignition and the starter. Ran a wire straight from battery power to the switch. Works great from the switch, and now for some reason it also works great from the ignition switch. Whatever.
Here's the starter, its a 2.7hp Hitachi style mini starter, $86 from ebay

Thanks! It sure is a hell of a mod. But an absolute BLAST to drive. This summer I will actually have the time to take it 4wheeling. Can't wait! I just need to build an anti wrap bar to keep the rear end from hopping.
