Water on the passangers feet
      #1014178 - 06/21/07 11:08 PM

My wife has been driving the Sportage while her car gets a different motor (Rod bearing gone @ 77K) It was hot so the AC was on high. The passanger complained of wet around her feet. The floor mat was pretty wet but didn't smell like anti-freeze (didn't taste it for sweetness...yuk!!)
Is there a drain tube for the evaporator? If so where is it located? Was wondering if they get plugged? Pulled the fan motor and the fan was full of leaves.
Going to NASCAR practice and qualifying and will be running the AC alot probably. So Saturday I'll try and chase it down.
Up for suggestions on where the drain is and how to best clean it out.

Thanks in advance for any good ideas/answers.

The Sporty has a drain tube just like all other vehicles. It is located on the plastic housing near the bottom in the engine compartment. I have a pic but do not know how to post it.

just like a home a/c system, the drain tube can get clogged with algae or debris and the water can pool inside the box and drip out.
