Veyron can still beat it.
As far as a better platform, I dont know. The guys from Top Gear said that car is so smooth and composed at 200+mph compared to others that feel like they are going to fly apart at 200. But I would rather have 4+ of those than 1 Bugatti.

I'd rather have a Bug, but only a type 41, type 57sc, or a type 35 Targa Floria, in that order. You can keep the Veyron. Ugly car. I'd rather have a Ferrari 275GTC. Anything over about 150mph is wasted, anyway. Talk about cop bait...
