Re: timming belt

depends how good you are on cars, if you are good 3 hrs if not all day, also how it goes getting things off, also depends if the waterpump has never been changed, most of the guys here replace the pump and the tensioners also, how are the belts I would plan on changing them also.

Re: timming belt

me and my buddy had it done in just under a hour! but he is also a mechanic at the kia dealership.

i dont have my clutch fan anymore, and i removed the complete bracket for that which saved a lot of time he said.

did timing belt, idler and tensioner.

belt was snapped in half.

Re: timming belt

Just for the statistics, what was the mileage on the belt in each case above...and others reading this and involved with the same.., and was it changed after failure or as preventive maintenance?

Re: timming belt

120 000 Km. so i went over 20k and had to change it due to it snapping.

on a side note, the truck definitely has more snap to it now! my mechanic buddy said the belt looked like it was pretty stretched and loose in there before it had snapped and probably skipped a tooth messing with my timing just enough.
