3 montero's in san jose california pick n pull's

I needed to get a part for a customer's vehicle at the local KLAUER'S PICK N PULL junkyard. I also checked out to see if there was parts for my raider and here is what i saw.

Klauer's on Commercial street.

88 Blue mitsubihi montero 2.6 5 spd auto hubs. Trans and all driveline intact. Engine intact 99%. all brakes. spare tyre. both seats. NO BOUNCY. NO ECU.lots interior exterior parts. tow hitch. bumpers.

88 tan mitsubihi montero 2.6 auto (maual hub missing). Trans and all driveline intact. Engine intact 90%. all brakes. spare tyre. both seats. NO BOUNCY. NO ECU.lots interior exterior parts. no front bumper

Klauer's on Montery Hwy.

91 tan mitsubishi Montero 4 door 3.0 automatic auto hubs.Trans and all driveline intact. Engine intact 99%. all brakes. spare tyre. both seats. BOUNCY SEAT REMOVED . NO ECU.lots interior exterior parts.tow hitch. no front bumper.

i removed the rear speaker mounts on both sides and drivers side mirror on blue mitsi. The passenger mirror , dash switch , center cap for rear tyre and some sort of window guard bars on tan mitsi.I took nothing off the 91.

there were these vetical bars on the rear side windows...i took them off the vehicle....we wonder what these bars are for??...do they protect the window from loose cargo??...or are they just for looks.??...there are two on each side...

The vertical bars may have been a faux safety feature. Samurai hardtops had similar pieces too.

My 88 has those bars. When I first bought it one of the bars was missing on one side but I got a replacement from the JY soon thereafter.

They're kind of a guard for the inside of the rear windows to protect them against shifting cargo. No, they're not of much substance, but they do work for their intended purpose. They've saved my windows more than once.

The bars were stock? I've never heard of, or seen those before. I'd be interested in some for my GenII...I've had WAAY to many close calls with stuff...I need something for the back window too.

well...here is the alternator back from the rebuild shop....$14 for alt + $78 for rebuild = $92 of 90amp happiness! if you notice in the picture: i had the guy change the plug so i could easily hook it up to the raider!

Re: 3 montero's in san jose california pick n pull's

update on the junkyard: the first three are gone and have been crushed down(two tan , one blue)...the only one left is the last white one.....but someone has grabbed the engine and driveline!...

you know what else???

the darn junkyard has figured out that the there is a difference between 4x2 and 4x4. Now they mark the side of every truck. Makes it easy to spot the 4x4 trucks in the sea of vehicles

I did not do it , but I did get the outside mirror's. They were in excellent shape but it look like someone took a wrecking bar to the dash. I guess they didn't have a screw driver. Also got the LSD out of the tan one along with the mud flaps, rain gutter chrome piece's bouncy seat and some small stuff. The white one, off of 13th street, I got the trailer hitch receiver, the type that bolts to the frame.
But I've had no luck in finding a faceplate for my radio's, the one I have is a two din opening, one big hole, I need the single din one, two holes type, brown or black.

I have an extra bouncy seat if you need one.

I was afraid of that. I meant tranny and transfer case. I'm on vacation.

It's an automatic, right?

well this is not that yard but it gives you an idea of the prices....klauers tends to be 5% to 10% less....

i rarely go to this yard as it has much older vehicles....klauers tends to have the choice selection??....

hmmmmm...today i went to put it in and suprise suprise....it does not fit!...the adjusting bolt does not line up and i need to grind metal off alternator or bolt mount...and i really do not want to do that!!...it is sooooo close to fitting that this is frustrating!

i will try to post a picture in future if i get it to fit or need help!...unless someone already knows an easy answer???
