dit it, but t-rex lost me a while back. Quote: i would disagree, look at how many people used it to pay down debt. sure there was alot of people that rushed out to buy new flat screens, which was the plan. but i guess thats what you get when you give a bunch of free cash to people that didnt deserve it. i would also argue that it did much, much more than just add to the deficit... inflation. and if it continues to go this way, well have hyperinflation. Quote: gotta love the double standard... but i have heard nothing about tax cuts where they actually matter. doesnt make much sense to me to give tax breaks to people that dont even pay taxes. the spending thats in it is beyond rediculous. parks, arts, moving expenses, new computers, new ficilities, birth control, cyclop llama research, the list goes on and on. if the purpous of this stimulous package is to create jobs... where the hell are the jobs? yeah i know, theres a part that focuses on the infastructure... about dam time, but the problem is that the infastructure is going to be rebuilt by the specialized companies and unions that arnt going to pick up a bunch of unemployed i/t engineers and bankers looking to pull in more than an unemployment check. im so fed up, but why fight it... wether or not in its current form, something is going to be passed. undoubtedly loaded up with all kinds of pork and bs. Quote: and give the spending power to whom? we the people? yeah that went great in november. spending proposals would have to come from someplace, and personally as sick as this sounds i actually trust the corrupt to put a little bit of money in to the dept of defenses budget versus a majority of my neighbors. if all else fails... just follow the rats past the bulkhead. |
