'91 montero rear prop shaft output seal question and u-joints

Took my old seal out to replace while doing u-joints. crossed it over to a SKF seal. The new seal is about 1/2 the thickness of the old. The old appears to have two seal contact areas. The new one just looks like a good ole oil seal.

Tapped the new one in place and going to give it a try. Anyone experience this?

On the u-joints.....Ive tried the vise method of pressing out the x member..man o man.....Have not budged the one I spent time on. Going to have to set it up on the press when I can get a helper to hold the shaft with me. Thoughts??
