Tire Experiences Thread

Thought this might be beneficial for folks looking at new tires. Please post your experience with tires. Include tire brand, model, size, dates used (rough dates are fine) and your opinion of them in varied terrain. If you have specific questions about a tire, ask them here too. Don't post general questions like which tire you should get here. I'll just delete those posts.

Update: 1/28/09 4:00pmIt was suggested that we include pricing but IMHO any pricing would simply become outdated and invalid withing months to 1/2 a year since tire costs are simply not very stable and continue to rise each year.

I'll start.

BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 35x12.5x15
Date Used: Feb 20, 2009 - present
On Road (dry & wet): relatively quiet but based on what I've read they need to be properly rotated and balanced frequently or they will get noisy.
On Road (snow) Unknown yet. Will update as required.
Dirt Trails: Work great. Lots of traction.
Rock: What limited crawling I've done, they've held up well. Will update this once I get my rock skids on and go on a more serious Krawl!

BFG Mud Terrain KM 33x12.5x15
Date Used: 2/11/03 - present
On Road (dry & wet): Good Traction, relatively quiet but have to be properly rotated and balanced frequently or they will get noisy.
On Road (snow): ok traction but could be better. Slow down if driving on packed snow with these tires cause if you hit a patch of ice...
Dirt Trails: Work great. Good traction although not as good as the Geolander MT's I had before these.
Rock: They've held up quite well but again the Geolander MT's trounce them. Just too bad the Geolanders end up used up within a year.

Geolander MT 33x12.5x15
Dates Used: 2001'ish to 2003
On Road (Dry & Wet): Good traction but then again I'm not racing my truck from light to light. I'm relatively light on the skinny pedal except on the freeway. In all instances thought the Geolanders have been great.
On Road (Snow): Same as other tires above.
Dirt Trails: These Tires ROCK! They have tons of traction!!
Rock: See my comment on the Dirt Trails!!
Comment: Major Downside to these tires are they were worn out within a year! Boo to Yokohama. I hear it was so bad they upgraded their compound adding more silicates for longer wear but I'll leave it to others to test them. At 155 each when BFG's are only 130 each I'll go back to BFG MT's!
