Re: [MORE INFO ADDED] Installing Reverse-Glow Dash Lights (w/ Tach!) in a 1995.5-1997 Rodeo...

OK, so maybe I’m an idiot. --- If not, at the very least, I should have thought of this before now!

Anyway, here’s what I just realized:

^^^ Note the missing black instrument panel insert to the left (Alternator/Battery & Engine Temp).

In my original post, I mentioned that there were small gaps at the bottom of the side-gauges, where the new panels weren’t a perfect fit. – Well, there don’t have to be. --- All you’d need to do is remove the little screws and leave the original inserts right where they are… Then simply put the new inserts in on top of them and replace the screws.

“But Smiley… What about the Needles???”

I was gettin’ to it.

Because their settings are almost immediately accurate from the moment you turn the key, the two top gauges (one on each side - Alternator on the Left, and Oil Pressure on the right) are the easiest to get the needles back where they’re supposed to be. – You know what position they should be in, or pretty darn close, right? --- SO, if you only remove those two, then you have a very good chance of slipping the new inserts over the remaining needles, leaving them completely undisturbed!

Afterward, it’s simply a matter of turning the vehicle over, and replacing those two top needles (which would be a breeze by comparison to how I did mine!)

If I hadn’t read those blasted instructions, I might have figured this out on my own, beforehand, and saved myself a whole lot of trouble.

Hope this Helps!

Cheers!
