a couple questions

sorry bout the broad post, but i thot it might be easier then posting several times. got a few q's, its an 88 4runner 4x4, 22re.
1. Ball joints, are oem toyota's really worth the extra money, or will aftermarkets suffice as long as they'r installed right, also same thing for idler/pitman arm?? moog, or oem?
2. i sometimes start he truck, and it will start to about 1000rpm, then drop down to around 200 and occaionsoally stall. I have found the 3rd spark wire going to the distrib. is only aobut half there (the electrode metal part) could this be the reason. i know its not cold start problems, because suprisingly it seems to happen less in the cold. and i've checked the injector.
