i run 16s on my truck, but only because they were basically free. 16" tires are much more expensive, there is less sidewall, and the tires tend to be a higher load range than what we need (or want) on our trucks.

ditto on the locker, but put it in the back. you can make really big tires fit with a bit of creativity. i have a 1" body lift, extra leaf in the rear, and bj spacers and i fit 35s with no rubbing at all.
