The Forest Service has extended the public comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Oregon Dunes NRA Management Area 10c Designated Routes Project an additional 45 days following a request from the Board of Commissioners for Coos, Douglas and Lane counties. The comment period will now end on January 24, 2013.
BRC believes this extension is critically important, and will allow the affected counties to place this issue on their agenda. This will allow the public an opportunity to give input to the county commissioners so they can weigh in on the DEIS in a substantive manner.
The DEIS is available on our website at http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/fs-usda-pop.php/?project=34220. If you need a copy of the DEIS in another format, please let us know and we'll be glad to provide it.
Printed copies of the DEIS will be available for viewing at the Oregon Dunes NRA Office in Reedsport, the Central Coast Ranger District Office in Waldport, the Siuslaw Headquarters in Corvallis and at several public libraries including but not limited to Eugene, Springfield, Roseburg, Bend, Grants Pass, Medford, Waldport, Reedsport and Coos Bay.
Written comments must include your name, address, and (if possible) telephone number, the title of the document on which you are commenting and specific facts or comments along with supporting reasons that you believe the Responsible Official should consider in reaching a decision.
