Backseat Grab Handles for your JK

While strolling the aisles of Off Road Expo, I passed the SpiderWebShade both and noted a new offering from their product line.  While they do produce a quality shade to give the open-top feel while screening the hot sun rays, they are now offering a series of grab handles to complement their product line of accessories for Jeeps.

Picture at right shows the final installed viewed from passengers side.

The grab handles (manufactured by Carolina Metal Masters) are constructed from powdered-coated billet aluminum and provide a sturdy hold for climbing into a lifted Jeep.  They do have grab handles for the front and rear of the TJ/JK series of jeeps.  I was on the lookout for rear grab handles and the CMM offering was stylish and functional.

The handles were an easy install.  The longest part of the install was to find my 10mm socket.  Only two other tools were required - 11/16” 12-point socket and a 1/4” Allen wrench. The instructions were complete and easy to follow.

The handle mounts to existing holes that secure the stock sound bar to the roll bars.  There is sufficient headroom clearance for a 6+ foot tall adult to climb in with ease.

The pictures below show the provided stanchions in the sound bar mounting holes, provided cross piece, and the grab handle attached.
