January 27, 2010 Name of Product: 2009 Model Year FX10 Snowmobiles Units: About 2,500 Distributor: Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A., of Cypress, Calif. Hazard: A bolt in the right front A arm can loosen in the suspension/steering system, resulting in the sudden loss of steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recall involves the 2009 FX10 snowmobiles. The following models are affected by this recall:
Sold by: Yamaha dealers nationwide from June 2008 through January 2010 for between $10,000 and $11,000. Manufactured in: Japan Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact an authorized Yamaha dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
