4x4 Access and Conservation - Clean Up, Conservation, and Restoration Projects
Written by Press Release
Sunday, 12 April 2009 10:22

Friends of the High Lakes will be holding a giant Clean Up project on Saturday June 13, 2009, similar to ones in late September 2007, and 2008.

They will be meeting at Spring Valley Lake at 8:00 am, Saturday June 13, 2009.  Volunteers are encouraged to come days early, or stay days later, should you wish to camp, but the Clean Up event is just Saturday.  Nearest towns are Magalia, Paradise, and Chico, CA.  Click here for a map:  http://www.friendsofhighlakes.com/maps/highLAKESmap23.jpg

Each of the Adopt-a-Trail Clubs and teams should send enough help, for their segments.

Help is needed as every trail will likely have some downfall from the winter storms, and water courses where they shouldn't be, and much signage to install.

There will also be work to do in all of the camp areas, and every inch of trails and can use all the help that can make it.

For this Spring event, it will be work effort only, saving the raffle / dinner / fund raising for the Fall event which will be Saturday, September 26, 2009, so you can mark your calendars, now.

Feel free to bring friends, families, and neighbors, perhaps a shovel and maybe a rake, and a good attitude. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. Bring your own food and drink for this event.

T-shirts, Hooded sweatshirts, hats and other swag for sale there.

The only thing that may delay this is a freak, late snow storm, and we'll let you know should that happen.
