BLM OHV Park Hosts Poison Spider Challenge July 27: Poison Spider OHV Park Closed for Event The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper field office has granted a special recreation permit to the Backcountry Crawlers for the Poison Spider off-highway vehicle (OHV) challenge on July 27, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poison Spider OHV Park is located west of Casper, WY on Zero Road. The park will be closed to other riders during the event. Spectators are welcome free of charge. Competitors will be charged a $35.00 entrance fee. Several challenges will be set-up in different locations throughout the Poison Spider OHV Park. Drivers will be divided into groups based on vehicle class and prizes will be awarded. For more information call Eve Bennett at (307) 261-7517. The BLM manages more land - 256 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, and energy production, and by conserving natural, historical, cultural, and other resources on public lands.
